I’ve always wanted to say this to Erika James…

 

Years ago, my husband passed away. We couldn’t have kids, he was in the military, so we didn’t have any family near. It was just him and I.

 

A few years later, I discovered that my favorite singer was still performing, and I started to follow him around and attend some of his shows. He and his fans helped to pull me out of a funk. I almost always had one of his shows to look forward to. He played in Epcot every year, some years he also performed in his friend’s restaurant, and sometimes he toured with his old band. He was such a nice man. He loved his fans, and they adored him.

 

Then in 2012, he suddenly passed away. It’s still hard for me to talk about, and it’s still difficult for me to listen to his music. He and I of course weren’t friends, but he was like a family member to me. A favorite cousin that I got to see at family reunions, once a year. Suddenly, once again, it was all gone.

 

I loved to read when I was a kid, but later in life, when I went to college, I only had time to read whatever was required, and completely lost my love of reading.

 

Then this fun new contraption came along, something that could hold thousands of my favorite books. At first I just read biographies. But I soon discovered that I no longer had to hold one of those fat romance novels with Fabio on the front cover.

 

Then there was this new romance novel that was spreading throughout the universe. They were talking about it on the Today Show, Good Morning America and even on Regis and Kelly.

 

The fact that they kept talking about how steamy it was, caught my attention. (I’m a widow, remember?) I only bought the first book, just in case I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t have wasted my money. The sex caught my attention, but the love story kept me coming back.

 

I was so upset at the end of the first book; it took me two weeks to start reading the second. Even though I had friends promise me that it would be OK…I read them, and read them, and read them. I promised myself that I’d stop after ten times. Once I passed that mark, I just kept reading and stopped counting instead.

 

I’m sorry to say that I didn’t make the great friendships with FSOG fans that I had with my favorite singer’s fans, but I have indeed met some really nice people online, and they too helped to pull me out of a funk.

I wonder how many times I’ll see the third movie? Will it be anything like the first two? (FSOG – 28 times, FSD – 37 times.)

 

What will I have to look forward to when February has come and gone…?

Ok so I don't usually do these but I will try. This is my 24 hour time frame.. Feb 9/17 my friends and I went to see Darker..we LOVED every second of this movie and had lots of different views on it which was a great conversation piece and this kept us realing for hours on end!! Favorite scene was the shower scene on the yacht as it just pulled at your heart strings! Feb 10th on my way home from work I was in a very bad car accident I broke my collar bone, 2 ribs, a finger, and cracked my chest wall which caused an air pocket in my chest.. it was extremely hard to breathe and the bruising was crazy black and blue all over my body. My husband had 4 broken ribs and a broken sterim also with a mild concussion and also bruised everywhere. Yes we were both wearing our seat belts. After a very long night in the hospital and on strong meds we were sent home to rest. That night I got a call that one of my Co workers had been killed by her estranged husband!! This was to much for me to comprehend as the pain I was In was excruciating! I was floored! I was trying to collect myself and did so with the help of my family when another call came in and my brother told me my mom had had a major stroke!! They needed me asap at the hospital! OK well let's just say this sent me over my breaking point!!! I could hardly stand never mind walk! My head filled with every single emotion there is. As I got to the hospital my brother met me outside and I knew she had passed away! I wasn't able to get to her fast enough!After I said my goodbyes to a wonderful amazing woman along with my family I went back home and tried to rest BUT couldn't slow my mind down. I now had two funerals in one week.

THAT NIGHT MY KIDS SAID TO ME WANNA WATCH A MOVIE MOM AND THEY PUT IN FIFTY SHADES OF GREY FOR ME! THIS MADE ME SMILE AND LAUGH AS MUCH AS IT HURT!! FOR THE NEXT FEW HOURS WE SAT AROUND TALKING ABOUT THE MOVIE AND HOW PEOPLE GROW, LIVE AND LEARN. HOW PEOPLE CAN CHANGE AND HOW PEOPLE CAN LOVE NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCE. JUST FOR THE LENGTH OF TIME IT TOOK TO GET THROUGH THE MOVIE MY MIND WAS AT REST AND FOCUSED ON THESE AMAZING ACTORS! HOW FILM CAN TAKE OUR MINDS AND SEND IT TO PLACES WE PROBABLY WILL NEVER GO TO OURSELVES. HAVE FAITH! BE POSITIVE! GOOD THINGS CAN HAPPEN. WHY THESE BOOKS, I THINK BECAUSE IT IS EVERY WOMAN'S DREAM TO HAVE A MAN LOVE HER THE WAY CHRISTIAN LOVES ANA. Fifty Shades has changed my life for the better, it has made me look at myself differently. I have found I have a little bit more confidence and that is all down to Erika for writing this amazing love story. I would like to thank Team Fifty for all their hard work and dedication they have put in to bring this story to life, I would like thank Erika for giving us this story and Dakota and Jamie for being phenomenal in the lead roles. I would also like to thank Official Fifty for all the amazing giveaways they arranged, all the pictures they posted from events. All the memories they have made and I'm thankful to them for sharing it with us. The trilogy will always remain close to my heart, I've made some amazing friends through this story and they are bonds I will always cherish.

I am really looking forward to Fifty Shades Freed, I can't wait to see the wedding and the car chase, just all of it. But I'm also sad it's coming to an end, it's been an amazing journey and one I will remember forever.
